The basics
KULT, what's in a name ?

The name KULT was chosen as a tribute to the deep connection between water kefir and the notion of culture.

The culture of micro-organisms during the fermentation of water kefir.

The building of a culture true to this project, with our consumers as well as internally.

Ke-what ?

Kefir water is a naturally fermented drink made from 'kefir grains'. Compared to milk kefir (used for dairy products), water kefir is made from water and fruits.

Kult bottles are unpasteurised, meaning they contain probiotics. These good bacteria's and yeasts support your gut flora and your overall well-being.

What is the difference between milk kefir and water kefir?

Milk kefir and water kefir are often associated with each other. However, they differ in various ways:

Ingredients: Milk kefir is made from milk and kefir grains, while water kefir is made from fruit, sugar, water and fruit kefir grains.
Texture: Milk kefir has a creamy consistency, while fruit kefir is lighter and more effervescent.
Nutritional content: Milk kefir is rich in calcium and protein, while water kefir is lower in calories and lactose-free.
Diet: Water kefir is vegan, while milk kefir is a dairy product.
Where is KULT brewed?

Kults are brewed in Belgium in small batches.

Ingredients & taste
Is KULT organic?

Through our commitment to promoting organic farming, we guarantee the purest and healthiest ingredients to offer you exceptional taste while respecting mother nature. That means no concentrates, no syrups, no artificial flavours; only real ingredients.

How is KULT flavoured?

We extract juices from real ingredients (fruits and plants), fermenting for nearly two days, resulting in unparalleled and authentic flavour profile.

How much sugar is there?

Almost all the sugar initially present in the recipe serves the fermentation, meaning it's converted into organic acids. This makes KULT the ideal choice if you want to reduce your sugar intake whilst still enjoying a refreshing drink.

And if you don't consume any sugar at all: we also have sugar-free cans!

Does KULT contain caffeine?

All KULT flavours are 100% caffeine-free, apart from our Maté cans, where we use real yerba maté, which naturally contains caffeine (roughly equivalent to a cup of coffee).

Why is KULT more expensive than industrial sodas?

KULT is not just a mixture of sugar, water and flavourings.

Kult is crafted in small batches, fermented for several days with high-quality organic ingredients. That's what it takes to make the unique taste of Kult. We try to keep Kult as affordable as possible, while remain healthy financially.

Cans & bottles
Cans

Pasteurised. Room temperature. Up to 18 months.

Bottles

Raw, alive, unpasteurised. Keep refrigerated. 4 to 6 months.

Does KULT contain probiotics?

It depends! Our bottles are unpasteurised, so they contain probiotics from the kefir fermentation. That's also why they must be kept refrigerated.

However, our cans are pasteurised to ensure long-lasting taste and can be stored outside the fridge for up to 18 months.

How to store KULT?

Our bottles are alive, raw and unpasteurised. They must therefore be kept in the fridge to preserve the active cultures and prevent excessive fermentation.

Our cans are pasteurised and can be stored at room temperature.

How long can KULT be stored?

Our bottles can be stored for approximately 4 to 6 months, but always refrigerated.

Our cans stay fresh for up to 18 months and can be stored at room temperature. Remember to check the 'best before' date on the packaging!

Why do KULT bottles sometimes vary in sparkling level?

Our bottles, raw and alive of microbiotics, slightly continue to ferment naturally, even once bottled, which can affect the level of effervescence.

Cans are more stable thanks to pasteurisation.

Who can drink KULT
Can children drink KULT?

Yes! KULT is a naturally fermented drink that is low in sugar, alcohol-free, contains no additives and is very accessible in taste (compared to kombucha). In fact, many children love the little fruity bubbles, and their parents too.

As always, if your child has a specific condition or diet, it is best to consult a doctor first.

What if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

Cans are perfectly suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is a refreshing and safe drink!

Bottles are raw and unpasteurised, so they contain probiotics and are still fermenting. Some people choose to consume this type of product during pregnancy, while others prefer to avoid it. If in doubt, it is best to ask your doctor or midwife for advice.
